On October 28, 2005, Oregon State University celebrated the grand opening of the new 153,000-sq.-ft. Kelley Engineering Center. More than 700 people crowded into the building’s 4-story atrium to listen to keynote speaker Jen-Hsun Huang, cofounder of NVIDIA, and other speakers and state officials

You can also view the archived stream of the entire event here.

The new building is a physical manifestation of the College’s current drive to become one of the top-25 engineering programs in the United States. Build to LEED “Gold” standards for sustainability and energy conservation, the Kelley Engineering Center is on track to be the greenest academic engineering building in the United States when it is certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
