Differential Engineering Tuition and Resource Fee

Last Revised: September 2009

The College of Engineering Tuition and Fees are given on the Oregon State University Business Affairs Website

Undergraduate Students

OSU implemented differential tuition for several programs including undergraduate programs in the College of Engineering beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year.  The engineering resource fees previously paid by all engineering students have been rolled into the cost of tuition for undergraduate students (graduate students still pay the fees as noted below).

The engineering differential tuition rates were established by adding a fixed amount for each credit for which you are registered.  The per credit amounts are $15 and $30 for pre-engineering and pro-engineering students, respectively for all credits.

By way of example, consider a pre-engineering student taking 14 credits.  That student’s tuition is $2,022 while a student in the College of Liberal Arts would pay tuition of $1,812 for 14 credits; a $210 differential.  Similarly a pro-engineering student with 14 credits would pay $2,232 in tuition, or a $420 differential.

Waivers of the differential undergraduate tuition will not be considered.

Graduate Students

The engineering resource fee for graduate students remains unchanged from the 2008-2009 academic year.  Planning is underway to structure differential tuition for graduate students in engineering.  No firm timeline has been established.
