Academic Coaches
Tanner Alberts, ME, Sophomore
Tanner is a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated from Sheldon High School in Eugene, but he made the conversion from a duck to a beaver fan upon his move to Corvallis—no big deal. He’s been playing guitar for the past eight years and tries to write and record music when he has free time. Tanner enjoys spending some time in the kitchen, attempting to play chef (he does make a mean grilled cheese). The Shawshank Redemption is his favorite movie, his favorite season is the fall, and his idea of a perfect Sunday is sleeping in and playing the rest of the day by ear.
Jennifer Charpilloz, CEM, Junior
Jennifer Charpilloz is a junior in Construction Engineering Management. Jennifer graduated from North Marion High School and was involved in FBLA, FFA, Track and Cross Country. She enjoys horse riding with her grandpa and staying active. Jennifer recently learned how to snowboard and she cannot wait to get on the slopes this winter. She loves being organized.
Kristina Currans, CE, Senior
Kristi is a graduate from Philomath High School, and having been born in Corvallis, she's looking forward to graduating in June and exploring beyond the 15 mile radius of her birth place. She just completed her second internship with the Civil Engineering Co-Operative Program (CECOP) at CH2M Hill in Corvallis. After exploring Surveying, Construction and Structural Engineering in internships, she is ready to tackle her passion, Transportation Engineering at PSU. She knits, bakes and loves to live where she can walk and bike everywhere. She hates mopping.
Andy Duvall, IE, Sophomore
Andy is a sophomore currently majoring in Industrial Engineering. He is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Recipient and is also enrolled in the University Honors College. Andy enjoys travel, IM sports, snowboarding, long boarding, hiking, and staying active. He is also involved in Oregon State’s SAE Baja club.
Zach Fairman, IE, Senior Zach is a graduating senior in Industrial Engineering. He grew up in Newport and graduated high school in 2005. He enjoys playing and watching any and all sports, socializing, snowboarding, wakeboarding, playing poker, eating, and basically anything he can do that is either active or outdoors. He is also an Engineering Ambassador and is very involved in the IE program. Upon graduation Zach has no idea what he wants to do.
David Imhoff, ME, Junior
David is a junior in Mechanical Engineering. He graduated in 2007 from Pendleton High School, although he is originally from North Carolina. David has worked as a TA for ME 101, and his interests include travel, running, cycling, backpacking, and almost anything else outdoors.
Sabrina Ireland, NE, Sophomore
Currently an honors student in nuclear engineering, Sabrina graduated high school from a small town in Idaho. She has worked as an intern for both Idaho National Laboratory and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. Sabrina loves photography, the outdoors and traveling. Learning is one of her greatest passions.
Alex King, ME, Sophomore
Alex graduated from Oregon City High School and is pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Alex was a track and cross country runner throughout high school. During the winter months he can be found skiing anything with snow on it. He also loves hanging out with friends and watching just about any sporting event.
Kyle Thomas, ME, Junior
Kyle graduated from Newberg High School in 2007. While College was not his first choice after graduating from high school he started taking classes at Chemeketa. Small classes and dedicated teachers helped Kyle find his passion in engineering. He started as a dual enrollment student at OSU and eventually transferred to be a full time student and is now a junior in the Mechanical Engineering program. Kyle enjoys wakeboarding, snowboarding, and traveling in his free time.
Travis Thonstad, CE, Post-Bacc
