</span>The laboratory of soil mechanics at EPFL (Switzerland) has a new opening
in Geomechanics at the postdoctoral level. <span lang=EN-GB><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=Default><span style='font-size:11.5pt;color:windowtext'>A postdoctoral
research scientist position is available in the laboratory of soil mechanics at
the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne (EPFL). The successful
candidate will work on various topics related to environmental geomechanics.
The candidate will be responsible for developing and performing research in the
context of the laboratory projects and activities including experimental work,
theoretical and computational geomechanics, as well as scientific programming
and simulation. Personal initiative and independent research tasks related with
the candidate’s interests will be encouraged. Other activities will include
interaction with PhD and Ms students and participation in teaching. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

in soil mechanics or a related field is required. Qualifications include a
strong background in civil engineering and continuum mechanics, along with

position has an initial one-year duration which is renewable depending on
