This is Dan Braunworth, EE graduate from last year. 

I hope things are going well in Corvallis; although I’ve heard you had some snow! 

As most of you know, I took a technical marketing job at National Semiconductor in Santa Clara, CA. 

I’m actually in a fantastic rotation program ending in July, which gives a broad view of the company with high visibility. 

Currently, National is recruiting four positions for next year’s rotation group. 

I’ve attached some information about this program so that you can extend this opportunity to students you might recommend. 

We are specifically looking for ECE folk with interest in marketing and strong communication skills. No specific marketing training or experience is necessary, but engineering experience or internships are a plus.

Technical Marketing Engineer - Rotation Program – Santa Clara, CA

Job Overview / Key Requirements:

The purpose of the Technical Marketing Engineer Rotation Program is to enable college hires to develop new skills and a broader understanding of the product line marketing function at National Semiconductor. This program will prepare the college hire for a career as a Marketing Engineer. 

The college hire will rotate through a variety of organizations at National Semiconductor, including: NSC Product Lines, Manufacturing, and Worldwide Marketing and Sales. Typical assignments may include: web-based marketing projects, shadowing senior marketing engineers on account calls, answering customer inquiries and orders at the Customer Response Center, working on pricing issues and contract negotiations, distribution marketing and working on new product launches. 

After rotating through three to five areas, the newly trained Marketing Engineer will be placed in a permanent position based on the needs of the company and the college hire's skills and interests. 

Qualifications / Required Experience / Education:

BSEE or MSEE Strong interest in business development. Excellent communication skills. Proven leadership capabilities. Strong interpersonal skills
