Job Description

Summary:
Design, enhance, maintain, and support software systems that automate
the daily 
building, testing, result analysis, and release of Rogue Wave products.
The primary 
technologies in use are Java, EJBs, Ant, Apache Web Server and Tomcat,
PostgreSQL, 
JavaServer Pages, and JUnit.   You will be programming on Windows and
UNIX 
platforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with internal customers to determine requirements and
technologies to address 
their needs.
- Create Requirements, Design and Test Specs for major changes to any
system.
- Design, implement and test changes to the systems.
- Debug and troubleshoot problems on a wide variety of UNIX and Windows 
platforms.
- Promote and establish software engineering best practices.
- Proactively monitor the health and efficiency of the systems.  

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
- Required: Java programming, Object oriented design/programming, Ant,
Windows 
and UNIX programming experience.
- Strongly preferred: Apache Web Server and Tomcat, PostgreSQL, EJBs,
JavaServer 
Pages, and JUnit.
- Desirable: AJAX, REST, Web Services, JavaScript, JDBC, XML, XML
Schema, 
WSDL, SOAP and CxxTest.
- Knowledge and keen interest in emerging tools and technologies is
required.
- Ability to apply software engineering best practices. 
- Experience with Agile software development is desired.

Education and Work Experience
- BS degree Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years experience in Java software development is
required.
- For the senior level position, minimum of 5 years experience in
software 
development is required.
