Thunderbird
Thunderbird is a powerful free email client available on COE lab workstations. The following steps show how to set up Thunderbird.

1. If you have been using Outlook Express and want to keep your addressbook and account settings, select "Outlook Express" and click "Next".
Else select "Don't import anything" and click "Next".

2. Make sure "Email account" is selected and click "Next"

3. Enter your name and email address, then click "Next".

4. Select "IMAP" Enter "mail.engr.oregonstate.edu" for both the incoming and outgoing servers. Click "Next"

5. Enter your username. Click "Next"
|
 |
|
6. Enter your email address. Click "Next"
|
 |
|
7. Click "Finish"
|

|
8. Go to "Tools -> Account Settings -> Server Settings". Check the box that says "Use secure connection(SSL)" Make sure the port number is 993.
Click the tab that says "Outgoing Server(SMTP)". Select "Use TLS, if available. Click "OK".

9. In the Advanced account settings: Set IMAP server directory to '~/mail
Thunderbird should now be setup.
