    • About 16% of the students are women
    • About 14% are minorities.
  •
  • Engineering students comprise the largest portion of OSU's Honors College with almost 40% of the students.
  • Approximately 80 percent of our graduates participate in at least one internship; one-third of our graduates participate in a cooperative experience involving two 6-month internships in industry.

Alumni

  • More than 29,000 engineers have graduated from OSU's Engineering program.
  • Many have gone on to found significant companies that employ Oregonians and others: Some examples include the Leatherman Tool Group, Inc. in Portland, CH2M Hill in Corvallis, and A-Dec, the world's largest supplier of dental equipment in Newberg
  • OSU Engineering alums have contributed greatly to Oregon and the world. Their achievements include inventing the first artificial heart valve (M. Lowell Edwards), developing the computer mouse and the concept of email (Douglas Engelbart), and winning two unshared Nobel Prizes (Linus Pauling), just to name a few.
  • 17 OSU Engineering alumni have been elected into the National Academy of Engineering. These include: Ronald K. Hanson; Octave Levenspiel; G. Kenneth Austin; Douglas C. Engelbart; James W. Poirot; William E. Cooper; Ralph Gens; Jack L. Kerrebrock; Rex A. Elder, and others.
